Sling

A sling is a ranged or projectile weapon used to throw blunt objects such as stones, baked clay or lead bullets. The sling was a popular weapon since the ancient times as it was inexpensive, easy to build and fairly easy to master. The sling was used in hunting and in combat. A classic sling consists of a braided material such as hemp, flax or wool and a leather cradle or pouch at the center. As a weapon, the sling can achieve very high trajectory and therefore a significant range – up to 1300ft. Sling weapons were used in many cultures throughout the world.
