Kama

Kama is a traditional peasant tool that was used in Japan and throughout Asia for reaping rice crops. The tool looked like a miniature sickle. Although its primary use was in the field the tool was also used as a dangerous and deadly weapon. The kama is often included as a weapon in training of tae kwon do, silat, karata and also Chinese martial arts. In martial arts, kama can be used as a single weapon or in pairs. Presently, the kama is a popular weapon for kata competitions.
