Leather Arm Guards / BracersA bracer is a protective sheathing (armguard) that was made out of heavy leather that was worn over forearms to protect them while shooting from a bow. The purpose of wearing bracers was to protect the archers arm from getting injured by the string of the bow or the feathers of an arrow. The armguards also prevented loose clothing from touching the string of the bow.
