Chain Weapon

Chain weapon is a weapon that consists of one or more heavy objects attached to a chain. Sometimes the chain could have a handle. The medieval flail is an example of a chain weapon that featured a wooden handle. Chain weapons were also used in other cultures. For example several types of chain weapons were in use in Feudal Japan and these weapons were used by the Ninja warriors. One of the chain weapon was the nunchaku which consisted of a short chain attached at ends to short wooden sticks. Another weapon was the shoge which was a ring with a sickle-like knife attached to a chain. This weapon could easily puncture armor or entangle legs of an opponent. Another chain weapon was kusari-gama which consisted of a kama attached to a chain with handle. Yet another weapon was the chigriki which consisted of a wooden staff with a weighted chain attached at the end.
