Our medieval lion crest sword is an exclusive design featuring a regal rampant lion symbolizing courage and strength hand coined into the solid brass pommel. A solid hardwood handle covered in black leather is sectioned by solid brass spacers while a 27-1/2" long x 1-7/8" wide carbon steel functional blade with blood grooves makes this sword a must for every collector of medieval weaponry! The overall length of this well-balanced sword is 34-1/2", and includes a wood scabbard covered in black leather. This is a medieval sword that Richard the Lionheart would have been proud to wield! Item #2001
This was my first Ritter Steel sword, and I received it as a gift from an old girlfriend several years ago. When she said “I got you a sword”, I had that sinking feeling in my belly, and prepared to smile and gush over some overly decorated Kit Rae monstrosity. You see, I need to be able to hit stuff, repeatedly, not just hang it on the bloody wall.
Much to my surprise and delight, I pulled out a solid fighting blade with well built furniture and classic lines. Although I have other European style blades from other sword makers, and many are quite good, this one still holds the title of the best balanced one handed sword I own. It’s like a natural extension of my arm, and moves fast. It also introduced me to Ritter Steel, which worked out nicely.
